Beach Weekend

Every year Edward Jones holds a summer regional meeting at the beach and it's something we look forward to for a long time. It's pretty much our only vacation for the year so that makes it even more fun. Addison loves the beach and especially the pool so she's been talking about it for weeks. We spent a lot of time swimming, eating and even went to the aquarium before heading home. Not a lot of sleep was going on though so hopefully we'll get to catch up on that soon!

Addison and her friend Ella played together the whole weekend. They've played together for the past 2 summers during the Edward Jones weekend and Addison always asks about her every time we talk about going to the beach. I love that she has friends everywhere!

This is the way he stayed the WHOLE afternoon in the pool. So cute that he loved the pool so much. He was just relaxing as much as he could!

Swimming

Addison has been going to swimming class for about 2 months. She is doing awesome! Before we started, she didn't want to go under water AT ALL, she didn't want to jump in, and she was afraid to do anything without water wings. She loves it now. She's been doing great at kicking and most of the time is too fast for her coach to keep up. She's been working on doing freestyle arms for the past 2 classes and she's definitely getting better. It's exciting to see her get better and better every week. She's excited to go to the pool at the beach next weekend so she can show everyone how well she's doing.

A few weeks ago we went on my dad's boat for the first time this summer. It was so nice to be able to go out since last summer the doctor said I couldn't go while pregnant with Cooper. Now he gets to go with us! He didn't really like it at first but once we really got going, he loved it. He even got a nap in there. Hopefully we'll be able to make it out there a lot this summer.

Addison was excited to try the tube out again but apparently we went to fast because she never wants to do it again. Haha! We'll have to go slower next time!

Chores, Chores, Chores

For the past month, we've been having Addison do chores around the house to earn something at the end of the week. If she gets 25 checks, she gets to pick something like going to McDonalds for ice cream or picking a movie at Redbox or picking something at the dollar store or something like that. She's done really well with it and is always excited to do her chores everyday. It's been so nice! She gets an "X" for bad behavior and they get subtracted from her checks so she hates getting those. It really seems to be working so hopefully it will last!

Her favorite thing is making the bed. She loves to "surprise" me by having it done before I go upstairs. She wanted me to take a video of her to show everyone. Cute girl!

Bath and Bed Time

So Cooper has had 3 teeth come in this week and he has been EXTREMELY cranky. Pretty much the only thing that gets him to stop crying for any length of time is the bath. Needless to say he is a VERY clean boy.

Addison has always HATED taking showers. She would scream and cry every time I wanted her to just take a quick one to rinse off. Well, I gave her one the other day and apparently she changed her mind because now she wants to take one every night. That's fine by me. She just gets in, washes up and gets out. It's awesome. We had some more videos of her in the shower but I didn't want to post those on the internet so here's a "modest" one.

Memorial Day Weekend

Happy Memorial Day! We had a crazy busy weekend filled with Curious George 2 at the library, a flower power birthday party for Addison, a pig pickin at church and topped off with a BBQ in our backyard with our friends. We all had a great time! Addison was looking forward to "her pool party" for a while and it was worth the wait.
