Unexpected Surprise

Yesterday it was 65 degrees.  It was great.  Short sleeves, sunny and just overall a beautiful day.  Then they were calling for snow today.  What??  I really didn't think much of it because they always say we'll get something and we NEVER do so I try not to get my hopes up.  Even when it snows a half hour away, it never seems to come here.  We're just a tiny bit too south.  A bunch of people on Facebook were excited about all the snow we were getting and I looked outside and was extremely disappointed to see it raining with a little sleet.  Tricked again!  Anyway, I went back to bed and when I got up, I looked again and it really was snowing.  I was shocked.  And really excited.  The kids about ran outside in their pajamas to see it, they were so happy.  We got these HUGE, fat, fluffy flakes that were absolutely beautiful.  The kids wanted to play outside immediately but I wanted to wait until there was just a little more stuck to the ground.  Addison had a birthday party this afternoon and it's supposed to snow all day so I figured we'd just play when she got back.  It was still snowing but noticed it was letting up a little and the stuff on the roof was starting to melt.  I rushed around, got the kids dressed and out we went.  I did not want to miss this chance!

Of course they wanted to get out the sled.  I had to dig it out from a bunch of stuff in the garage but they loved going down the tiny "hill" in the front yard.  Good thing they didn't go right into the street.

We couldn't stay outside long since we had a party to get to but the kids had fun and I loved watching them.  I'm glad they got to enjoy it at least once this year!  

Hollywood/Movie Party

When I asked Addison what kind of birthday party she wanted, she had no idea.  So I scoured the internet for some ideas and gave her some options.  She immediately decided that she wanted a pajama party/movie night.  So I went back to the computer to find some party supplies that would fit and decided to amp it up and make it a Hollywood themed party since that's what I could find.  I made her invitation as usual and she has been so excited ever since.

Mommy Brag

Last week Cooper was coloring on his magna doodle and I randomly asked him if he could draw a "C", not at all thinking he would/could do it.  Then he did.  I was surprised.  Then kind of jokingly, I asked him if he could spell the rest of his name.  I didn't expect him to do it AT ALL.  I have never sat down with him to teach him letters or how to write at all.  I was shocked.  I have no idea where he learned it and obviously it's not perfect but it's SO good for me having never taught him.  Addison was a little younger when she learned how to write her name but I really worked with her on it.  I'm so proud of my kids!

My baby girl turns 7!

My baby girl is 7!  I can't believe she's so old!  We love birthdays around here so Phillip and I spent hours last night blowing up about 75 balloons and covered her room with them.  Then we hung up 7 in the doorway for her to pop with a dollar each in them.  She was so excited to pop them.  

Apparently she is a ghost...or she is just moving too fast for the camera to catch her!

A Night at the Circus

After I took Addison to Disney on Ice, I wish we had all gone together so when tickets to the circus came up, I was excited to get them.  The kids were so excited to go.  They had a pre-show before the actual show so we got to see some of the clowns and animals up close.  It was pretty cool.  

 The kids got to go in this bounce house before the show.  They had so much fun!

Finally the show started!

Cooper just clapped and clapped and clapped.  It was so funny.  He just thought it was the best thing ever I guess. He couldn't stop staring.

She was entranced by the guy jumping through the ring of swords and fire.  It was her favorite part.

Addison loved this cat.  She's been sad since our cat died a few weeks ago so I was glad she was happy about this cat.  She just kept asking how she did that. 

Cooper loves the movie/show "How to Train Your Dragon" so he was excited to see this creepy fake dragon.  He was convinced it was real though. ; )

I thought the motorcycle guys were awesome.  No idea how they got 8 guys in there at the 1 time.
