Girls Night!

My friend Megan just had her beautiful baby girl but before she did, Tami and I kidnapped her for a night away for a serious girls night. It was SO fun and so nice to get out for a while. It included a hotel, dinner and shopping the next morning. Everyone should do this once in a while!

How to entertain the kids on a Saturday for free ; )

Another Saturday, another day to try to find something to do with the kids. It was raining all day so Phillip wasn't going to able to go doorknocking like he usually does on Saturdays so we had to try to figure out something to do all day. I had heard on the radio yesterday that the Toys R US near us was having a grand re-opening and they were celebrating with lots of kids characters, face painting, etc... When I heard that they were going to have Brobee and Plex from Yo Gabba Gabba, I knew we had to go. Cooper is OBSESSED with Yo Gabba Gabba. It's his absolute favorite show and the only thing that can calm him down when he's upset. When he saw Brobee across the room, he completely freaked out, yelling "wow", "Brobee", "hug" and ran down the aisle to go see him. As soon as he got within 10 feet of him though, he completely freaked out. He wouldn't go near him. It was kind of funny. We finally got him to touch him by promising that Daddy would go with him.

His whole body was stiff and he wouldn't calm down, he was totally freaked out. It was cute ; )

I have to say that I was not impressed with Barbie AT ALL. She looked like Hooker Prom Barbie. Totally weird and Addison didn't really like her either.

Addison LOVES getting her face painted. Whenever we get the chance, she doesn't mind waiting in however long a line just to get it painted. I love it!

She had no idea who Captain America was but she thought he looked cool so she just had to meet him.

They loved pretending to ride on the power wheels. Surprisingly, they didn't even ask for one. I have to say that I was shocked that we spend 2 hours in a toy store and we left without buying a single thing. And nobody even whined about it. It was awesome!!

Phillip wants to buy this so bad. It would actually work pretty well in our backyard but of course it was $800. So no, we won't be getting it ; )

Decent Weather

I just found these pictures on my camera tonight from a few Saturdays ago. We had finally had some decent weather (before it got too hot) so we tried to enjoy it as much as possible! I definitely do not enjoy being outside when it's 105 degrees out!

School Days

Addison's teacher just created a website with information, calendars and pictures and sent it to all of the parents. Here are some of the pictures she took during Addison's 1st week of Kindergarten. She's having a great time!

Potter Time

Last November I reluctantly went to see the 7th Harry Potter movie. Phillip wanted to go with our friends so I agreed. I hadn't read any of the books and quite frankly thought that the people that did like the books were nerds. I love reading but I never had an interest in them. This movie was Part 1 of the 7th book. I had seen all of the previous movies and thought they were fine but nothing to get excited about. However after seeing the 7th one, I HAD to know what happened. So I went home and read it over the next 3 days. I loved it so much I went back and started from the beginning and read books 1-7 in about a month. Crazy! So I was SO excited to see the very last movie this past weekend. I wasn't too thrilled about seeing it in 3-D but Phillip really wanted to so that's what we did. It didn't bother me as much as I thought it would but we took some pretty dorky pictures! We LOVED the movie and can't wait to see it again!

1st Day of Kindergarten!

Addison's first day of Kindergarten was today! I can't believe it. She has been so excited to go. She said she can't wait to make new friends. We were feeling a little sentimental last night so Phillip and I watched a bunch of videos from when she was a baby. She was so little! I can't believe how fast time flies.

We all went to drop her off this morning and she was so happy to be there and didn't have any issues about us leaving or anything. I didn't think she would but it was still a little sad to just leave her ALL day!

4th of July Finally!

We had a fantastic weekend topped by a great day with our friends on 4th of July. We went to the pool, played video games, ate yummy food and topped it off playing Settlers. It stormed pretty bad so we weren't able to see more fireworks but the kids got to do sparklers so they were happy with that.
