1st Day of School!

Addison started school a few weeks ago.  It's crazy she's already in 3rd grade already!!  It's the first time she's wanted to pick something out herself for the 1st day of school so we headed to Target and she tried a few things on and then immediately fell in love with this dress.  She is so stinking cute!!  She has a great teacher and has really liked school so far this year.

She wanted me to take a picture of her second day of school outfit.  She's been into dresses lately and I love it!!

Happy 4th!

Happy 4th of July!  We spent the day with friends, eating yummy food, playing games and swimming.  We had a great time and had fun spending the day together!

Our friends are moving at the end of this month so this was probably the last time we'll swim over there.  Sad!

A 4th of July tradition...Bomb Pops!

She was also amazed by the sparklers.  She never tried to grab them thank goodness but she loved watching them and kept saying "hot"

The night before, we were going to see fireworks in our town but right when we parked, it started raining.  So we hung out in the car for a while hoping it would stop.  After about an hour, it cleared for about 10 minutes so the town did them early and we ended up having the perfect spot to watch them, right from the car.  Haven loved them and kept pointing and trying to show us.  It was cute.

Tonight we went to the fireworks in Holly Springs.  It was absolute perfect weather.  We were in the shade and it was breezy and perfect.  We brought dinner and set up shop for a few hours.

They had a bunch of bouncy houses and small rides but they all had a line a million miles long so we just did the slide.  They loved it!

They had a bunch of crafts and free stuff that the kids were able to do which of course they had to do.  They made keychains, got flags, balloons, and a couple more things (crap) that made them happy :)

Vacation Days!

My mom decided that she wanted to go to the beach while Addison was out of school for the week in between grades so off we went.  I had really been wanting to do a beach trip so this was perfect.  My dad was at scout camp and Phillip had to work so it was just me, my mom and the kids.  I was a little worried about it since Phillip usually deals with the crazy loon that is Haven but it ended up being fine and we had a really good time.  

Our first stop even before we went to the hotel was the outlet mall with the Kate Spade store.  My mom  had really been wanting to go there and it was well worth it when she got the cutest dress and belt ever!  After a few stores the kids saw the quarter rides and wanted to pretend to ride in them (since I would never actually pay for them, haha)

It was super hot so my mom got the kids a slushie and it spilled and they didn't want to waste it so they got right to cleaning it up.  Gross...

So when we got to the hotel we went out to the balcony and Haven saw the pool below (from the 3rd floor) and she immediately wanted to go in it.  So she got down, turned around and tried to lower herself into it.  It was beyond hilarious trying to watch her get through the bars as if she had no idea that she would fall to her death if she was able to get through.  

 

Then she got extremely mad and threw a massive fit.  It was sadly funny!

We headed down to the pool and then the beach.  Haven was a complete daredevil in the pool and it was crazy.  She just kept going off the edge to jump to me whether I was looking or not.  She has no fear and it's a little scary!

She was hilarious when she got on the beach for the first time.  She didn't like the sand at all and kept reaching down to get the sand off of her feet.  It didn't work, haha.

Haven's first real time at the beach the next morning.  We went last year but she was only 4 months old so it was fun to watch her in the sand and water for the first time.  She was a little wary at first but she eventually got into it.

I apparently forgot the buckets so Cooper used the tiny castle to carry water back and forth.  Whoops!

More beach time.  It was so much nicer around 5 and later because the sun wasn't blasting on us and most people had cleared out by then.

Haven was obsessed with the seagulls so the big kids went to feed them goldfish.  It was so fun to watch them get so excited about it, especially Haven!

Addison made a little pool and the kids loved it.  It was the perfect little spot for all of them.

The big kids spent about 6 hours doing this.  They LOVED jumping over the waves and I had a blast watching them.  They just could not get enough.

We went to a cheesy tourist shop this morning before we left because I promised the kids we could pick more shells to add to their collections.  For 99 cents they could fill up a cup with whatever they wanted.  They had fun picking them out.  

We had a great time and actually did it all even without the guys to carry the heavy stuff :)  I got my beach fix in for the year and we really had a great time.
