Pretty School Pictures

We got Addison's spring pictures back yesterday.  They came out SO cute!  She is such a big girl. I was bummed she was still going to have her cast on for the pictures but it ended up being fine.  She was adamant about picking a pink shirt out so that it would match.  Haha!

Zip Line Tour

To cap off an insanely busy week between going to Myrtle Beach and camping, Phillip and I went zip-lining yesterday.  For his birthday last year, I had given him a Groupon to do this but we didn't have time to go last year so we were going to wait until it was warmer to go.  I realized about 3 weeks ago that it expired today so we had to hurry up and use it.  It was perfect weather so it worked out nicely.  I specifically picked this place because it was only 45 minutes away as opposed to going to the mountains which are a 4 hour drive.  Luckily my mom was able to take the kids so it was perfect.  The place is SO nice.  I was shocked that all of this forest area was smack dab in the middle of Fayettville.

We were in a group with 5 other people.  Luckily everyone was super nice and fun to do this with.

Loved doing this run.  It was 800 feet over a waterfall.  It was SO beautiful!

There were 3 bridges and to be honest they were the only thing I was really afraid of. They were so wobbly and Phillip kept shaking it on purpose just to tease me.  They were just so skinny with only tiny little ropes on the side.  Not sturdy!!  Obviously we were still harnessed in but it was still a little scary.

It was really, really fun and something I definitely recommend doing if you get the chance.  We had such a great time and it was nice taking a few hours away from the kids!

1st Camping Trip of the Year

We went camping for the first time this year this past weekend. What was originally just going to be a trip with Tami's family and ours ended up being about 20 people at the last minute.  It was a lot of fun though.  I always forget how much work camping is, especially for just one night.  Even the guy checking us in couldn't believe that we were only staying one day.  I always say that we will go at least 2 nights next time but we never do because that would involve taking time off of work and school.  

I was worried about Haven since she's not really walking yet and still puts EVERYTHING in her mouth so pretty much crawling around in the dirt for 2 days.  Pretty much everything I was worried about came true but it ended up being ok.  She spit out pretty much everything she put in her mouth since it probably didn't taste very good :)

Here she is about to eat a leaf.  She seemed so happy about it.  She loves being outside!

Most of us down at the beach area.  The weather was absolutely perfect.  Not a million degrees like when we normally go so it was nice and cool.

All ready for bed!

She started off in the pack and play and when I woke up in the middle of the night, this is what I found.  Luckily I had the camera right behind me because this is too cute. 

Woke up to a beautiful chilly morning.  I LOVE sleeping without the rain fly so I can wake up to the sun and trees.  It is by far my favorite thing about sleeping outside.

She was so excited to see the outside when she woke up.  It was like she couldn't believe she was still there.  It was super cute.

Dakota was giving the kids a lesson about fire safety.  They were enthralled and they loved finding twigs to add.

Baby girl loved watching the fire get bigger.  She couldn't stop looking at it.

After a yummy breakfast Phillip couldn't wait to get Haven ready to go kayaking.  They looked so cute!

She LOVED going out.  She screamed every time we got her out.  She even took a nap in there later in the afternoon

I got this chair on the 75% day of the consignment sale so it was only $.50!  I couldn't believe it.  It's perfect because of the sun shade.  She looked so adorable just sitting there like a big girl.

She got back in and couldn't stop trying to get the water.  It was freezing but they she loved it.

It didn't even occur to me that the kids would want to go swimming since it was chilly outside and the water was downright freezing. I only brought their bathing suits so it would be easier to play at the beach area.  I didn't even bring their floaties or towels or anything.  They LOVED playing in the water though.  They didn't even seem to notice that was frigid.

Poor Addison couldn't swim because of her stupid cast so she was pretty bummed but she still had fun anyway.  She can't wait to go again so she can enjoy the water!

Phillip had his kayak and Dakota brought 2 more so all the guys went out with some of the kids.  Looked like fun!

Charlotte's daughter wanted to go out with Addison so they went out together.  It never occurred to me to let them go out by themselves but they did great and had so much fun!

It definitely warmed up a lot by the afternoon so baby girl stripped down to her suit.  I LOVE it!

I plopped Haven down to see what she would do and she LOVED it.  She literally sat there for an hour and a half just splashing and laughing at the tiny waves made from the boats.  She was in heaven and looked incredibly adorable.  

We had a great time and hopefully we'll be able to go a lot this Summer!

Scott's Homecoming

Phillip's brother Scott came home from his 2 year mission from Brazil on Wednesday so we went down to Myrtle Beach to see him come home.  We didn't tell anyone we were coming except Shawna (since we were staying with her) so that was fun too.  He was supposed to come home around 12:30 but his flight got changed and nobody was told so at 9:30 we got a call that he was actually coming in at 10:15.  Well, we were a half hour away and nobody was dressed and we weren't packed to go home.  It was really like a scene out of Home Alone.  Clothes flying everywhere, yelling to get dressed, rushing out the door, insanity!  Unbelievably we didn't catch a single red light and we RAN into the airport the same instant Scott was walking down the escalator.  Yay!  Im so glad we made it.  It would have been so sad for him to come home after that long and have nobody waiting for him at home.  

I was so glad we were able to go down to see him.  It was fun to be together with everyone.  He hadn't met Haven, Shawna's new son or Stephanie's new daughter so that was fun too.  Can't believe how many babies have been born in the past 2 years.  

We went to the park for a little while with everyone so we could wait for Phillip's grandparents to get done with a doctors appointment so we could go to lunch.  The kids had a great time.  I love getting the cousins together.  We were only missing Andrew's family.

We went to lunch afterward and then went back to Phillip's parents' house to hang out for a bit.  It was so nice just to hang out with everyone.  The kids didn't want to leave.  It was a quick trip but a lot of fun!

Officially 1!

Even though we had her party on Saturday, she's officially 1 today!  It took forever to get a good picture of her and I'm glad it's the last one of the monthly pictures I have to take.  She won't sit still for a second!  She is such a sweet girl and this year really has been a whirlwind.  Hopefully this next year won't go by nearly as fast!

She has started standing really well in the past week or so.  It's so cute and she knows it makes us excited so she does it a lot on purpose and throws her hands up excitedly.  It's super cute.  She also talks pretty much constantly and likes to mimic a lot of what we say.  Hopefully she'll be talking up a storm soon!
