Birthday Girl

Happy Birthday to my sweet baby girl!! I can't believe she is 6. Seems like time is speeding up because it doesn't seem like she should be this old already. Sunday night we blew up about 100 balloons and covered her bedroom floor with them. I've done this since she was 3 but somehow it's still always a surprise to her. It's cute how much she loves when we do this.

For her birthday breakfast she requested 6 chocolate donuts (because she's 6 of course) and chocolate milk. Luckily she only ate 2 before she was full.

I saw this idea on Pinterest and thought it was really cute. We hung 6 balloons from her door and put a dollar bill in each one and then she had to pop them to get them out. She was really excited about the money.

She was not so excited however about popping the balloons. It scared her to death and she wanted us to do it but I guess she eventually wanted the money more because she got them all.

Cooper wanted to reach the balloons so bad. Maybe next year!

Ever since Addison saw the Smurf movie she has wanted a Smurf birthday. Since we weren't having a party this year we at least got a Smurf cake. It was pretty cute!

Present time...more Care Bears of course!

New Easter dress from Grammy. The first thing she asked was if it twirls and then when she tried it on, it was the first thing she did. She's such a girly girl.

Getting a little help from her friends

She has been asking for a bike for a while since she outgrew her trike a long time ago. I kept telling her it was too big, too expensive, etc... so she was really excited to get it. Can't wait till it warms up a little to go for a bike ride.

She wanted to try it out right then but our house is way too small for that I guess because she didn't get very far.

Randomness

Just a few random pictures from lately...

Addison got out all of her Care Bears one day to have a party. She's super cute about her bears. She has about 5 more since this picture was taken. It's crazy how she is about collecting them!

They were watching a movie together in my bed. They are so cute together!

Grammy and Coop...Sweet!

It took about 3 hours to do all these Valentine's for Addison's class but it was a lot of fun. It took so long because Addison wrote all the "To" and "From" names and put on all of the stickers by herself. She said she wanted them to be perfect so she had to concentrate. It was really cute.

This is the reason she keeps asking for a little sister...oh brother!

Playtime

Addison has been tracked out this past week so we've been trying to stay busy. We've gone to the library, made Valentines for her class, seen a movie, finished her 100 Day of School project, gone to the park with friends a few times and generally been having fun. We went to the park with some our our friends and I'm glad she took some pictures. I never seem to have my camera! We went to a park I hadn't been to since I was a kid and they have a walkway up to this bridge that goes over the highway. The kids LOVED it. Cooper was completely amazed and I couldn't even get him to move because he was in such a trance watching the cars. They even got some of the trucks to honk. It was really fun.

Cooper loved this merry-go-round. He just went right over and plopped himself down right in the middle and wanted to be pushed.

Potty Break

I went to check on Addison tonight before going to bed and when I didn't see her in her bed, I wondered where she could be. And then I saw this...in the bathroom. Apparently she was just too tired after her late night potty break to make it back to her bed. And of course instead of picking her up, I ran and grabbed the camera. ; ) Hey, at least everything had just been cleaned!

Boosterathon

Addison had a Boosterathon Fun Run Fundraiser at school today. She's been really excited about it all week and kept saying how she was going to wear her Sketchers so she could run really fast. Her goal was to run 30 laps and she ended up running 32. It was exactly 2 miles. Crazy!! She had a great time and was excited that we came to watch her.

Gummy Bear!

Anyone who knows Phillip knows that he is obsessed with gummy bears. Every birthday I get him a huge bag and usually for Father's Day and Christmas too. He LOVES them. My mom found this store in a mall here that sells "The Worlds Largest Gummy Bears" and got him one for Christmas. It's awesome. It's 5 pounds and HUGE. He was excited to start eating it tonight. We had to cut pieces off with a knife so the kids could share it too. Addison thought it was the coolest thing ever!

1st bite!

Phillip stood the bear up and the kids thought it was hilarious when it fell over. I absolutely love their giggling!

Christmas!

Finally the day came! So much work and preparation and it turned out to be a fantastic day! We spent Christmas Eve at my parents house eating dinner, making smores, drinking hot chocolate and opening presents next to the fire pit. It was very Christmas-y. Quin spent the night at our house and helped us set up the train table and get everything else ready. I set my alarm and woke the kids up around 6:30. I was so excited I could barely wait! The kids were amazed by the trains and played with them before getting into the stockings. They loved all of their gifts and played with them all morning before going to church. Cooper was so into playing with his stuff that when we asked him if he wanted to open another present, he said "nope". It was so cute. We had a fantastic relaxing day and ended it with a yummy dinner at a family friends' house so I only ended up having to cook a few desserts. It was so nice!
